Loving Literature

This fortnight's Habit of Mind is Thinking Flexibly, which is when we focus on changing perspectives, generating alternatives and considering options.  Our online book this fortnight to bring this Habit of Mind to life is the hugely popular, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus".
In this book, the main character, who is a pigeon, thinks of reasons why he should be allowed to drive a bus. The online animation pauses to let the reader say "No!" each time the pigeon present one of these alternatives. This leads to the pigeon thinking more and more flexibly in trying to convince the reader. The story ends with the pigeon again thinking flexibly to come up with a different idea. If your family enjoys this book, there are other books in the Pigeon series that you could explore together.

Remember, the current story link can also be found on the front page of the school website.
