School Captains Tour

Wednesday 8 May 2024 at 9:15am

All families welcome

No RSVP necessary

Enquiries and new enrolments are welcomed at any time throughout the year at Wynnum State School, please contact the Enrolments Officer at admin@wynnumss.eq.edu.au or on 07 3893 5111 for further information. Any student whose principal place of residence is within the school's catchment area is entitled to enrol at our school. You can access the catchment area map provided by Education Queensland to determine if you reside within catchment.

As we are an enrolment managed school, our enrolment procedures are governed by our School Enrolment Management Plan (SEMP). A school enrolment management plan is a legal document that ensures students can attend their closest school. It also ensures that the best use can be made of available resources. The school Principal will reserve places for students who move into the catchment area throughout the school year.

Parents or legal guardians who wish to enrol their child at the school will need to demonstrate that the student's principal place of residence is within the catchment area. Current proof of residency at the address indicated can be provided by way of one of each of the following:

· One primary source—a current rental/lease agreement, or rates notice, or unconditional contract of sale and

· One secondary source—a utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent's/legal guardian's name.

If the Principal is not satisfied that the documentation provided by an applicant demonstrates adequately that the address stated is the student's principal place of residence, then the Principal may request further sources of proof of residency.

Out of catchment enrolments

Enrolment of students from outside the local catchment area are considered in alignment with the criteria of our Enrolment Management Plan.

Expressions of interest for Prep enrolments from those families residing outside the catchment area are accepted from the beginning of Term 1 of the year prior to Prep and placed on a waiting list in order of receipt. Applications will remain current only for the year of submission. Communication to families of waitlist enrolment application outcome is provided in Term 4. We appreciate your patience with this process, but please do not hesitate to contact the school office for further clarification.

Further information on enrolling at our school and enrolling in Prep is available.
