The Habits of Mind are a set of 16 thinking skills that intelligent thinkers use to solve problems in which the answer is unknown.  Created by Arthur Costa and Bena Kallick, these thinking skills or habits, are present in the best decision makers. This fortnight’s Habit is Creating, Imagining & Innovating.

By allowing yourself to go beyond your perceived boundaries, you can discover and generate new approaches you never thought possible. Examine each potential approach from different angles and accept criticism – both positive and negative – to help you refine your solution.

The online book to bring this Habit to life is Never Let a Unicorn Scribble by Diane Alber. Enjoy the this online book to see how the main character solves the problem of a unicorn eating her crayons in an imaginative way to find an excellent solution.
